Rotary Club of Ivanhoe financial support for local groups and organisations

Over its 16 year history, the Rotary Club of Ivanhoe has supported many local groups and charities, including, locally, Linlithgow Day Centre for the Frail Aged, Open House in Ivanhoe, the Banyule Council Children's Holiday Camp, Eagle Ward, Austin Hospital, Children's Protection Society, Olympic Adult Education (where club member Keith Oldmeadow serves on the board), Olympic Village Preschool, and the Heidelberg Uniting Church's Men's Shed, North Eastern Citizens Advocacy, Prostate Heidelberg, Salvation Army's Macleod office, and Rosanna Golf Links Primary School Deaf Unit. Further afield, the club has made contributions to Mission Australia, Vision Australia (Seeing Eye Dogs Program), Berry Street, the Australian Breastfeeding Association, Children First (Moira Kelly), Bone Marrow Donor Institute, Olivia Newton John Breast Cancer Appeal and Cystic Fibrosis Support Network.

Non-financial support

Rotary clubs provide much in the way of on-the-ground advice and support for many local organisations and events. Our club provided support for Linlithgow in the early days of its establishment, Prostate Heidelberg in its early years, Olympic Village Preschool in plans to landscape its garden, the Rosanna Golf Links Primary School Deaf Unit in its efforts to achieve some sustained funding through Bendigo Bank and both Linlithgow and the Children's Protection Society in the management of their gardens. Our club members also attend key events run by local groups, for example the annual prize-giving day at Olympic Adult Education.

Our club's support for other Rotary clubs in the district

Also encouraged in Rotary is for clubs to support other club's projects and fund-raising events. Our club, for example, attends the annual Australia Day Breakfast, presented by the Rotary Club of Moreland and the Rotary Club of Moreland supports our community breakfasts which are held every year or two.
