A short-lived return to another combined face-to-face and ZOOM meeting (but not for long!)

We welcomed our long-time friend Suzanne Crellin and her associate Craig from 3081 Angels.

3081 Angels is a volunteer run, not-for-profit organisation which collects quality, pre-loved baby and children’s goods to give to families in need in West Heidelberg and the surrounding suburbs in Banyule.

Suzanne and Craig told us the ‘Angels’ is currently staffed by 16 active volunteers plus another 14 workers. Despite the inconveniences of Covid restrictions the flow of goods has been maintained, albeit with reduced staff.

The organisation has assisted over 3200 families in the last seven years. Assistance has included some 150,000 items of clothing, 3000 nappies and 600 prams.

Our Rotary Club regularly provides financial assistance to 3081 Angels – recently we obtained a District Grant that was used to purchase car seats and baby formula for distribution to local families in need.

We look forward to an opportunity to visit the 3081 Angels operations centre, possibly on Wed 8 September.
