Incoming District Governor Bruce Anderson and wife Marilyn joined our ZOOM meeting to introduce the new Rotary Year and provide guidance on Rotary priorities themes and events.
District Conference
Scheduled for March 18-21, 2021 at the Wangaratta Conference. Planning is underway, with contingencies in case Covid restrictions are still in place.
International Convention
Scheduled June 12-16, 2021 in Taipei Tai- wan. Bruce thoroughly recommends attendance if possible.
District Directory
No hard copy District Directories this year. On-line only. Webmaster Steve McKewan will keep the on-line directory up to date.
Partner’s Program
There will not be an official partner’s program this year, in recognition that Clubs are struggling to raise money and need local community projects. Any excess funds should go to Rotary Foundation. Marilyn askes that clubs spruce up any Rotary signage in their local communi- ties to mark 100 years of Rotary in Australia.
Bruce suggested any surplus funds could go to Rotarians Against Ma- laria.
RI President message
Bruce recently met in San Diego with RI President Holger Knaack. Holger suggested clubs not panic about numbers. Better to keep club cohesive and be selective about new members to maintain the Club’s culture
